Sir Peter Jackson Responsible for Mass Confusion

Sir Peter Jackson’s secretive manner in which he is keeping The Hobbit movie cast is leading to confusion and extreme withdrawals on the part of many fans. Nowhere is this more obvious than with the fans of Richard Armitage and Aidan Turner. Granted these men do have some similar features: close in height, dark hair, beards, but the similarities end there.

In the latest vlog released, number 6, much speculation has occurred between the fans of each actor as to who is who in the vlog. Obviously, Aidan fans can enjoy his brief interview under an umbrella but aside from that instance there is speculation as to other sightings. Such as the thought that Kili (Aidan) is on a horse in the vlog. There is much debate amongst fans of Richard Armitage over whether the dwarf in a barrel is him or Aiden. See pics 7, 8 along with comments…. While the author will not present personal feelings on identification, it should be noted that it is Thorin (Richard Armitage) on the horse.

Fans of both men are, on the whole, normally adjusted men and women who are able to live their day to day lives quite successfully. To have difficulty recognizing the object of their lust can only be attributed to extreme stress and withdrawals. If Sir Peter Jackson would kindly release a bit more of his actors some of this confusion may settle down and fandom can return to normal along with the fans able to return to their daily lives being able to recognize their respective squees. If fans remain in this extreme state of confusion, the fear exists that this confusion will spill over into their day to day lives causing waves of vehicle accidents, increases of on-the-job accidents and eventually mass hysteria along with the confusion. For the sake of public health across the globe, Sir Peter Jackson needs to re-think his lock and key strategy.

PS- Shout out to my boy Andrew brown suit, you better be in the next vlog!

LOL! So true, Sir Peter, you are making it very hard for us. Shame on you! And yeah, there’s NO doubt in my mind that is Richard on the horse.
Funny you should post this, as I am working on one for my blog right now discussing Beatlemania, which happened when i was a child, versus our feelings for Richard and our anticipation of Thorin . . .

  2. judiang says:

Well, that explains everything! No wonder I couldn’t recognize him. Sir Peter had better do something quick! ;)

  3. jasrangoon says:

You know where I stand. Maybe I’m just well adjusted and can identify them correctly! ;)

  4. mersguy says:

ROFL…..very funny post Jas. PJ and RA are as bad as each other in the secret squirrel stakes! ☺

I seem to recall that Eric Vespe did confirm that it was Thorin getting in the barrel. I don’t think that there is any particular withholding of anyone from the blogs, they aren’t showing much of anyone at all. The blogs are part of the marketing campaign and they are designed to tease.

  6. Hey Snicker’s Mom, I had no idea this was your blog ;) Now that I’ve found it, you’ll never get rid of me Hahaha!
Anyway, I’m not sure if Peter Jackson is responsible for the lack of info on the two hunks, or is it the case that he has so many things to ponder, plan and organise, that he doesn’t even know the torment we admirers go through!
Having said that, he should know the Hollywood game by now and, like in Ancient Rome, the spectators want to be entertained and demand blood Well, not blood, but a few sexy close-ups!

  7. bccmee says:

Perhaps in the next video blog all the actors will wear paper bags over their heads. Of course we’ll be able to recognize RA by his voice! If he speaks, that is.

  8. servetus says:

I don’t care who is getting in the barrel, but i think the discussion we’re having is exactly the kind of think Jackson would like to encourage.

  9. mersguy says:

So Eric’s last report is out??

  10. Brennan Boru says:

Definitely Thorin on the horse. Looks like RA getting into the barrel. What I have my doubts about is the moment we see someone from the back with long hair in a pony tail holding up a camera to take pictures of mountains. Can we debate that weighty issue now?

  11. mersguy says:

Agree with Brennan, Thorin – Richard on the horse. And I’m very sure it’s also Thorin taking that picture.
Lastly I think its Aiden popping out the barrel!

Snicker’s Mom, we have the same cat! Mine’s called Tiggy.

    • That’s a cute name. Mine is named Snickers ;) I like the grey tabbies.

    • fedoralady says:

Grey tabbies rock. ;) Puddie cat is a long-haired gray tabby and the late lamented Mary Ann Cat was, too. We’ve had a little bit of everything, from three-legged tuxedo cat with Hitler mustache to orange tabby to adorable calico.

Re the person taking the photo: Look at the hands, free of those prosthetics. I think I would recognize those hands anywhere. Richard Armitage has VERY distinctive hands. That’s good enough for me. :D

      • mersguy says:

We have always had tabby’s and mostly called Tiggy (our kid’s choice -lol) Fedoralady, I think I could spot any part of Richard a mile off!! I spend enough time studying him (that’s my justification, time wasting is my hubby’s!)

      • fedoralady says:

All our pets, dogs and cats, have either showed up on our doorsteps or been adopted from a shelter. We once went on a vacation in Denver (while living in South Dakota) and brought back a live souvenir–a long-haired grey adult cat in need of a home. ;) We have five pets currently, which is the lowest numbe we’ve had in a while, three inside cats and two outside dogs.

The way I look at my familiarity with RA’s appearance and erm, physique, is that if we are going to blog about, write fiction about, create artwork and fanvids about a particular subject, we should be very, very knowledgeable about our subject. Our audience deserves nothing less. ;)

    Great post… I’m agree, it’s a public health problem…
I don’t recognize myself …. I had never spent so much time to see photos with maximum zoom, comparing every detail and reading every comment … So far I am convinced a) Richard: horse, camera – b) Aidan: barrel.
